Data Tables/dashboards in CEDARS

There are ways in Java to enhance the tables in CEDARS to make them easier to use: DataTables | Javascript table library I would like several of these interaction controls deployed on the site tables.

    What specially were you hoping to add? Where?

    We currently use DataTables, but we’re currently stuck on an old version so many of the interaction controls might not be available to us.

    If this were targeted to one or a handful of specific tables, we could update those to a newer version of DataTables. But doing this across the site in one go is a lot of work.

    As an aside, there are instances where the underlying data has grown to a point where our use of DataTables is no longer fit for purpose (I know the user list page is like this, there are probably others). If we’re looking at changing DataTables, this might be a good opportunity to address this too.

    We have several table improvements in the pipeline. I might merge this post with the second item, but I want to ensure we have captured all the tables that need these improvements and what functionality will be added first.

    A survey in the details has questions around search, sort and filter functionality using data tables. I would be grateful if you could complete the survey linked in the post or share the survey link with CPUC staff who use CEDARS.

    There is also an annotated design file with the proposed improvements in the comments.

    Please let me know if we need to add any tables to this list to implement sort, filter and search functionality.
